TECHNICAL TOURS
The following technical tours have been made available by the conference organizers. The technical tours will take place on the morning of Tuesday, 21 August 2007. The cost per tour is ZAR 200 per person. Only one of the visits can be attended by a delegate.

The
Pebble Bed Modular Reactor
project is a major undertaking in South Africa with major stakeholders such as
ESKOM and the South African Government involved. This visit will take you to
Pelindaba west of Pretoria to see the Helium cooling test facility. This plant
contains everything except the actual nuclear reactor.
The cost for the visit is ZAR 200.
Prior requirement is knowledge of the attendee's shoe size for issuing safety shoes.
Attendees are required to bring a valid passport / identity document as proof of identity to the plant.
Only groups of 10 to 44 can be accommodated.

Sasol
Polymers is a leading producer of both Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). On this site visit delegates will
visit the Sasol Polymers Plant in Sasolburg. An outline of the process will be
given, together with the use of non linear model predictive control to improve
the production and agility of the plant.
The cost for the visit is ZAR 200.
Attendees
are required to bring a valid passport / identity document as proof of identity
to the plant.
Only one group of up to 15 persons can be accommodated.
Persons from the polymer industries will not be allowed to attend the visit.
